Members of the Society enjoy a beautiful day outdoors as they
participate in the annual "El Dia De La Familia Picnic"
A great time was had by all at the annual "El Dia
De La Familia Picnic" held on Saturday
September 10th where not only did the
members of the FDNY Hispanic Society and
other Hispanic Societies have a great time with
friends and family, but The Grand Council of
Hispanic Societies officially endorsed Fernando
Ferrer for his upcoming election for Mayor of
New York City.

Dia De La Familia Annual Picnic
Sunday May 21st from 12PM - 5PM at the Castle Hill YMCA
Located at 2 Castle Hill Avenue in the Bronx

Once again the Society invites all members, their families and friends to partake
in the first of our two annual picnics.  As has become our custom, we will hold the
pre Memorial Day picnic as well as a post Labor Day picnic.  In conjunction with
the "Grand Council of Hispanics in Public Service" the picnic will be on Sunday,
May 21st at the Castle Hill YMCA located at 2 Castle Hill Avenue in the Bronx, from
12 noon until approximately 5 P.M.  Admission will be $5 per adult and children
will be free.

Come join us for a day of good food, refreshments, music, games, sports and
fun, fun, fun for children of all ages.  Please note that swimming caps "must" be
used at all times in the beautiful indoor pool.  The YMCA has a limited number of
caps for sale but they have run out in the past.  Don't be disappointed.  Bring your
own swim caps.  No caps = no Swimming!

Volunteers will be needed to assist in set up, clean up and of course to flip
burgers and hot dogs.  Please call our hot line at 718-482-3375 to volunteer.

Lastly, be prepared for our always spirited competition versus the MTA, Sanitation
and all challengers.  Bring your own gloves and be prepared to be victorious so
that we can return the trophy to it's rightful owners.
*PLEASE NOTE*
The General Meeting for May will be on Wednesday July
26 st and not on Monday the 31th!
